Cyclohexanone is an important chemical raw material and industrial solvent, which is the main intermediate in the manufacture of nylon, caprolactam and adipic acid. It is also an important industrial solvent, such as for paints, especially for those containing nitrocellulose, vinyl chloride polymer and its copolymer or methacrylate polymer paints. Excellent solvent for pesticides such as Chemicalbook phosphorus insecticide and many analogues, as a solvent for dyes, as a viscous solvent for piston type aviation lubricating oil, as a solvent for grease, wax and rubber. It is also used as homogenizing agent for dyeing and fading silk, degreasing agent for polishing metal, wood coloring and painting, and can be used for removing film, decontamination and removing spot with cyclohexanone.
Methods of production
Cyclohexanone is a very widely used petrochemical raw material, is also an important organic solvent, cyclohexanone according to its use is often divided into amide and non amide two categories. Cyclohexanone for amide is mainly used in the manufacture of caprolactam and adipic acid, which are important raw materials for the manufacture of fiber PA6 and engineering plastic PA66. At the same time, cyclohexanone is an important industrial solvent and can also be used in the production of pharmaceutical intermediates. At present, there are three main production methods of cyclohexane: cyclohexane oxidation, phenol hydrogenation and cyclohexene water. Phenol hydrogenation is the earliest process used in industrial production of cyclohexanone. There are two oxidation processes for the production of cyclohexane in Chemicalbook industry, one is catalytic oxidation process and the other is non-catalytic oxidation process. The catalytic oxidation process mainly uses cobalt salt, boric acid or metaborate acid as catalyst. In the 1980s, Japan Asahi Chemical Group developed the process of hydrosynthesis of cyclohexene to cyclohexanol. The process is based on benzene as raw material, incomplete hydrogenation reaction to produce cyclohexene, cyclohexene hydration to produce cyclohexol, the by-product of the route is cyclohexane. The process has low consumption, effectively avoids the waste lye produced in the process of cyclohexane oxidation, and reduces the pressure of environmental protection, so it has obvious prospect.
