Environmental effects of hydrazine hydrate

(1) Health hazards

Way of invasion: inhalation, ingestion and percutaneous absorption.  

Health hazard: irritation to nose and upper respiratory tract if inhaled.  Dizziness, nausea and central nervous system excitement may also occur.  Liquids or vapors can irritate the eyes and cause permanent damage to the eyes.  Irritating to skin;  Repeated contact with skin for a long time can cause poisoning through skin absorption;  Dermatitis may develop in some contacts.  Oral administration causes dizziness and nausea.  

(2) Toxicological data and environmental behavior

Toxicity: high toxicity.  

Acute toxicity: LD50129mg/kg(orally in rats)  

Hazard characteristics: flammability in case of open fire and high heat.  It has strong reducibility.  It can react strongly with oxidants. Cause to burn or explode.  

Combustion (decomposition) product: nitrogen oxide.

(4) Environmental standards

the maximum allowable concentration of hazardous substances in the air of the workshop of the former Soviet Union is 0.1mg/m3;
