Acetonitrile CAS 75 05 8 Methods of production

There are many production methods of acetonitrile(Cas 75-05-8), among which the main industrial production is acetic acid ammonification, acetylene ammonification and propylene ammoxidation by - product method. 1. Acetic acid ammoniation method with acetic acid, ammonia as raw materials, under the action of aluminum oxide catalyst, at 360-420℃ temperature, reaction, one step synthesis of acetonitrile, reaction liquid by water absorption and distillation to get the finished product. Raw material consumption quota: acetic acid (98%) 1763kg/t, liquid ammonia (99.5%) 691kg/t. 2. Acetylene amination method with acetylene, ammonia as Chemicalbook raw material, with aluminum oxide 2 catalyst, at 500-600℃, one step reaction synthesis acetonitrile. Raw material consumption quota: acetylene 10231m3, liquid ammonia (99.4%) 1007kg/t. 3. Acrylonitrile is synthesized by propylene, ammonia and air as raw materials through catalyst, and acetonitrile is produced at the same time. Acrylonitrile can by-produce 25-100kg acetonitrile per ton. 4. Obtained from dehydration of acetamide and phosphorus pentoxide. 5. It is obtained by the action of dimethyl sulfate and sodium cyanide. 


The primary use of acetonitrile(Cas 75-05-8) is as a solvent. As a solvent for the extraction of butadiene, synthetic fibers and some special coatings. A solvent used in the petroleum industry to remove tar, phenol, etc., from petroleum hydrocarbons. It is used as a solvent to extract fatty acids from vegetable oil in oil industry and as a reaction medium for recrystallization of steroid drugs in medicine. Acetonitrile is medicine (vitamin B1), the intermediate of spices, is the raw material of making homotriazine nitrogen synergist. Also used as a denaturant for alcohol. In addition, it can also be used for synthesizing ethylamine, acetic acid, etc., and also has many uses in fabric dyeing and lighting industry.
